OpenAI confirms a problem

Here’s a live look at the status page showing that OpenAI is working to fix the issue of ChatGPT elevated errors. However, there are no details yet on what is the reason for the outage. Previous ChatGPT outages have lasted anywhere from a few hours to many, many hours, so we hope this is a quick fix.

Down Detector reports begin to increase

While not skyrocketing, Down Detector reports that problems with ChatGPT have risen to over 3,400 as of 2:40 p.m. ET. It’s the last update from the service, but it’s probably still at that level, if not a bit higher.

It’s not a resolution update, but OpenAI has updated its status page at 2:57 PM ET and writes: “We are investigating the issue for the listed services.” under the same “Increased ChatGPT error rates.” It appears that the teams at OpenAI are looking into what is causing the elevated error rates.

Via my ChatGPT Plus account on the web, I still get no response from the AI, with the spinning, or rather glowing circle that just lasts for minutes.

ChatGPT may return for some

OpenAI says it has applied a fix to ChatGPT’s increased error rates

Downdetector reports have also started to drop and now sit at 115 reports for ChatGPT as of 3:03 p.m. ET. Hopefully your experience with ChatGPT is now back to normal, but OpenAI is still monitoring for full recovery from increased error rates now that the fix has been implemented.
