On Saturday, the government appointed Naveed Asghar Chaudhry to acting chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) after the resignation of the LT Gen (RETD) Sajjad Ghani earlier in the day.
A notification issued by the Ministry of Water Resources confirmed Chaudhry’s appointment. Ghani served as Wapda chairman for almost three years before stepping down.
Chaudhry previously served as the temporary WAPDA chairman in 2022, after the LT Gen (RETD) Muzammil Hussain withdrew for “personal reasons”.
