Islamabad:

PTI senator Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry on Tuesday filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) who requested a production order to participate in senate sessions.

The petition says that Chaudhry was arrested in connection with the incidents on May 9 and is currently detained in Lahore prison. He argued that he, as a senator, has the constitutional right to participate in the Senate and joint parliamentary sessions.

Chaudhry has called on the right to give his participation in all Senate cases. The petition names the Ministry of the Interior, the Senate Secretariat, Punjab IG Prisons, Lahore Prison Superintendent and Islamabad IGP as respondents in the case.
