Chichawatni:
Okanwala Bangla police on Wednesday arrested a suspected robber who had been wounded in a meeting while his accomplice escapes.
A spokesman said police had received information that two armed men had robbed Ghulam Abbas, resident of the village of 157/9L in his motorcycle, cash and mobile phone.
Police chased the robbers, but they opened fire on the staff in the camera area. In retaliation firing, one of the suspects, identified as Shehbaz Jani, was wounded while the other managed to escape.
Police recovered the motorcycle, cash, telephone and illegal weapons from possession of the wounded suspect, the spokesman said. He said a search operation was launched to arrest the other suspect.
