Chief Justice’s selection is disappointing, says PTI -Leader Hamid Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leader and senator Hamid Khan has expressed dissatisfaction with the appointment of Chief Justice, saying their chosen Chief Justice is Justice Mansoor Ali Shah. He also accused certain persons within the Supreme Court of sitting with the establishment.

The comments were made under the Law Convention held in the Lahore High Court Bar. The Convention was organized under the theme “The effect of the 26th amendment on the judiciary.”

Several prominent legal figures participated in the event, including Senator Hamid Khan, Lahore High Court, President Asad Manzoor Butt and Lahore bore President Mubashar Rehman. Former presidents of the Supreme Court Bar Ahmed Owais, Shafqat Chauhan and Ishtiaq a Khan together with former Vice President Rabbiya Bajwa and other legal experts from all over the country also participated.

Movement toward 26. Amendments

By tackling the Convention, PTI leader Hamid Khan declared that the lawyer’s movement against the 26th amendment had begun and would eventually overturn the amendment. He emphasized that their fight gained momentum and legal organizations had submitted petitions against the amendment and demanded that a full bench of 16 judges hear the case.

He criticized the Supreme Court and claimed that certain persons in the judiciary supported the establishment. “Chief Justice’s acceptance of the position has greatly disappointed us. For us, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is the rightful Chief Justice, ”he said. He also promised to withstand all attempts to fill the Supreme Court with politically motivated agreements.

Hamid Khan also claimed that the 26th change was adopted without proper parliamentary consciousness. “This is not a parliament; It’s just a voice game. Even the Prime Minister and the Minister of Judge were unaware of the change information. This is a government formed through Form 47, ”he noted, referring to alleged choices.

He accused Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa of enabling horse water and defending the decision under Article 63-A and claimed it was completely justified. He also revealed that a senator of the day of the amendment of the amendment had been brought in while underwent dialysis, and another senator’s son had allegedly been abducted to force her to vote.

Call for the independence of the judiciary

PTI’s legal representative claimed that the amendment was constitutional and that the current government was only a puppet administration. “Everyone knows we have been defeated. Negotiations with thieves are simply not possible, ”he said.

Meanwhile, President of the Insaf Attorneys, Ishtiaq A. Khan, also treated the Convention and accused a particular group of holding bar councils as hostages and appointing judges after their elections to establish control over the judiciary. He called for judges to take a stand on the constitutional change.

He also said that lawyers would continue their movement until the uneven change was lifted. “We demand that full court before the 26th change hears this case,” he concluded.

The Convention marked a strong attitude of the Legal Brotherhood against the 26th amendment, signaling additional legal and political struggles ahead.
