Andy Reid has spent the last 26 years as a NFL trainer. Next month he celebrates his 67 -year birthday.
Reid has built a Hall of Fame-worthy CV, but he will spend this week focusing on the present, not the future.
He will be on the sidelines in New Orleans Sunday when Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles turn out in the Super Bowl.

Reid is a three-time Super Bowl-winning main coach and is the only head coach of NFL History who has recorded 100 wins with two different teams. He was Philadelphia Eagles’ main coach from 1999-2012 and has been coaching chiefs since the 2013 season.
Reid enters the regular season 2025 as the second best coach in the league, only behind 73-year-old Pete Carroll. Las Vegas Raiders hired Carroll earlier this month.

Given his age and performance, some have raised questions about when Reid will decide to go away from football. Shortly after Chiefs arrived in New Orleans for the big game, the long -time head coach treated speculation about his coaching future.

“Yes, I’ll come back,” Reid said.
Reid’s statement supports Chiefs owner Clark Hunt’s hope the coach was not “distant close” to calling it finishes.

“I don’t have the feeling that he’s far close to wanting to finish,” Hunt recently told journalists. “I think he has always said he knows when the time is in and I’m sure he will share with me before he shares with everyone else – at least I hope I finish.”
Don Shula, Bill Belichick and George Halas make up the short list of coaches in NFL History to win 300-season matches. Reid is credited with 273 wins in regular season and 28 playoff victories.

But Reid made it clear that his plans to return next season were not made in an attempt to surpass former New England Patriot’s main coach Bill Belichick on the coaching list all over the time.
“It’s not part of it,” Reid said. “I just enjoy teaching. I don’t get caught up much in the statistics or records. I enjoy being around the guys. I enjoy football, the game. You can’t put the hours we do and not enjoy it. I love the game.”
