While Andy Reid is primarily dealing with getting a win for Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, the worries about the way Super Bowl will be officered and also brought to his attention.
Over the past several months, fans, sports commentators and social media observers have discussed whether Chiefs has benefited from the favor of the NFL judges.
Reid quickly shot down the idea and said that officials “don’t favor” the bosses or any other team.

“They don’t favor one side or the other … That’s not how this thing goes. I don’t think the officials are interested in what’s said,” Reid said. “They do their job, and they do to the best of their ability.”

Reid argued that the perceived favorite creates a “good story” but is not based in “reality.”
“It’s a good story, but it’s not the reality of how it works,” he added. “You’d offend them to think that’s what they’re doing. They’re going out and they call it as if they’re seeing it. There are some that coach I sit there and I go, ‘I’m not Agree with it.

During a press conference in New Orleans earlier this week, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell rejected claims that officials have given Chiefs an advantage.
“It’s a ridiculous theory for everyone who might take it seriously,” Goodell said Monday. “It reflects a lot of fans’ passion, and I think it’s also a reminder to us how important official is. And I think the men and women who serve in the NFL are excellent.”
Getting back late and pulling close victories seemed to have been a hallmark of Chiefs’ season. In the AFC Championship Game Victory over Buffalo Bills, Judge Contoversy triggered when they managed quarterback Josh Allen Inches shortly after a decisive first down in the fourth quarter.
The critical measurement ignited questions about whether the NFL should use some form of ball tracking technology.

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt also drew from the idea that back-to-back Super Bowl masters have received preference from the judges and said you “almost have to laugh at” the idea.
The NFL Judges Association described the criticism as “insulting and inappropriate.”
