However, Mahomes are being examined to seem to forget to shake hands with one of his running back, Samaje Perine as he walked down the line.

Perine had stood up and appeared as if he would shake hands with his quarterback, but Mahomes jumped him over to talk to the tight end Travis Kelce instead.
The video of Mahomes became viral after the loss 40-22, with many wondering why he would pass on Perine after reviewing the rest of his teammates.

Perine is a veteran of the NFL and plays his first year with Chiefs in 2024 after spending time with the Washington commanders, Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos in previous seasons.

While Mahomes never commented on what happened to forget Perine on the sidelines after the game, he posted the loss after the worst start of his career.
