Mot the end of Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes greeted some of his offensive players, gave high-fives and shared hugs.
But a player – who ran back Samaje Perine – was noticeably left out despite getting up when Mahomes approached him.
Mahomes greeted Juju Smith-Schuster and Hollywood Brown before embracing Isiah Pacheco. Then on the bench was Perine who got up, but Mahomes approached Travis Kelce instead, and the two shared a long embrace.

People noticed the apparent Snub, and in an Instagram post that highlighted video of what happened, many Mahomes called a lack of leadership.
However, according to the New York Post, Perine commented on the post and said people made something out of nothing.
“Lol, I was actually getting up to loosen my pants string, nobody accused anyone,” commented Perine. “It’s not that deep.”
Perine, third on the running depth card behind Kareem Hunt and Pacheco, caught a pass from Mahomes in the AFC championship against Buffalo Bills, who sealed their victory and sent them to their third straight Super Bowl.
