Kansas City Chiefs were only three pieces into their season opener from 2025 in Brazil when they lost one of Patrick Mahomes’ most important offensive weapons.
The broad recipient Xavier Worthy was excluded for the rest of the game against Los Angeles chargers with a shoulder injury – and friendly fire is what took him out.
Worthy drove a short route on the third down, just as the tight end Travis Kelce as they collided into each other. Worthy got the worst of it when Kelce’s bigger frame smashed into the shoulder.

Worthy was in immediate pain on the grass and could be seen on Chiefs’ sideline hanging his right shoulder down and waving. Then trains to push against it, with some speculation that it was displaced.
