Chinese company to install 3,000 EV charging stations in Pakistan

A Chinese company has announced plans to install 3,000 electric vehicles (EV) charging stations over Pakistan with the aim of increasing the adoption of green energy and creating employment opportunities.

A delegation from China’s CEO group met with Sindh -Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah and other stakeholders to discuss the expansion of the EV infrastructure in the country.

In a speech with the media, Nasir Shah confirmed that the charging stations would be established in urban areas and along highways with full support from the provincial government.

Each charging station is expected to cost around RS8 million, with an initial deposit of RS1 million. Required for installation.

The initiative is expected to generate about a million jobs, giving a big boost to Pakistan’s employment sector.

Adm Group also plans to establish EV MANGEMENTLY in Pakistan and has already signed an agreement with the federal government on the development of charging infrastructure.

If the company creates production facilities in Sindh, the provincial government is considering buying at least 20% of locally manufactured electric vehicles.

CEO of CEO Group, Yasir Bhambhani, said the company is ready to start local EV production this year if approved.

He added that “manufactured in Pakistan” electric vehicles could be exported to seven countries, including India, as part of future expansion plans.

The company aims to create three production facilities in Karachi, Punjab and Balochistan with an expected annual production capacity of 72,000 units.

The investment is expected to improve Pakistan’s EV industry, reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to environmental sustainability.
