12 Chinese hackers are indicted by the US Department of Justice
Two of these were reportedly involved in 2024 US Treasury Hack
The individuals have not been arrested
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced that it brings charges against 12 Chinese hackers accused of targeting over 100 US companies, including the US Treasury.
The individuals are all accused of having played key roles in Chinese hacking offensives. Officials confirmed that some of the accused were contract hackers and Chinese law enforcement officials who targeted businesses in the United States and worldwide to suppress “freedom of speech and religious freedoms”.
