  • For some read it “like a wuxia novel” instead of conveying the game’s themes
  • Developer Team Cherry has promised improvements “In the coming weeks”

Reviews and receipt for Hollow Knight: Silksong Has been largely positive since the September 4th release, and despite some problems with its difficulties, it has not stopped well over half a million players checking the game on Steam alone.

That said, Chinese-speaking players have expressed dissatisfaction with Silksongs Simplified Chinese translation. As reported by Eurogamer, players have taken social media to give feedback on the translation, with a user who indicates that it “reads as a Wuxia novel instead of conveying the game’s tone. This is not about effort, but about taste and direction and speaking from experience probably cannot be corrected without replacing the translator.”
