Church near Philly sings ‘Fly Eagles Fly’ Under Mass on Super Bowl Sunday

With Super Bowl on Sunday here, fans hope a higher power can help their team in the big game.

Philadelphia Eagles seems to take down back-to-back reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, with kickoff at 1 p.m. 18:30 ET.

But before some Eagles fans got their parties started, they asked for the help of the Lord.

St. Rose of Lima in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, less than 10 miles away from Lincoln Financial Field, was full of Eagles fans singing the team’s touchdown -sang, “Fly Eagles Fly.”

Both pastors seemed to have the Eagles Priest collar, and “Father Joe”, wearing number 3, hyped the church guests up.

The song was written in 1955, but it did not become a cornerstone of every touchdown before in the 1999 season.

The song has even been sung by artists playing in Philadelphia.

Eagles are looking for their second title with their first coming seven years ago when they defeated New England Patriots.

This is Kansas City’s second time opposite Philly in the last three years two teams pulled it out two years ago, when Chiefs won, 38-35.
