Chuwi, a company that is better known for budget devices than the flagship power centers, has revealed its latest effort to break into the high -performance segment: GameBook 9955HX.
Promoted as a laptop for coders, players and professional creators, this new model is run by AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a Zen 5-based chip with 16 cores and 32 threads, with a boost frequency of up to 5.4 GHz. It also includes a large 64MB L3 cache and a configurable TDP that can reach the top about 55W.
From the time of writing, the unit’s price does not remain revealed – but given Chuwi’s history of undermining larger brands, it is reasonable to expect this model to be lower than similar offers from MSI or ASUS.
Chuwi Gamebook 9955HX
For graphics, the GameBook 9955HX NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 5070 Ten Laptop GPU integrates, based on the latest Blackwell RTX architecture, making it suitable for video editing and graphics-intensive tasks.
GPU offers 12 GB GDDR7 VRAM, a 140W TGP, and supports features such as full beam pores, DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation.
Chuwi says this setup can deliver up to 191 FPS in 1440p games with radiation pording activated, and 149 fps at 4K, which places it firmly in the prestigious category.
For creators working with AI-accelerated tools, advanced 3D rendering or video after production, this may prove to be a top competition, provided that its cooling system and thermal management are up to the task.
The display is a 16-inch 2.5K IPS panel with a refresher speed of 300Hz, 100% SRGB color cover and a 16:10 image ratio. Peak lighting reaches 500 NITs, though allegations of color accuracy have not yet been verified through independent calibration tests.
Internally, GameBook comes with 32 GB DDR5 RAM of 5600MHz, upgradable to 64 GB and a 1TB PCIE 4.0 SSD. Storage expansion is supported via two M.2 slots, one of which supports PCIE 5.0, which offers a level of future assurance that is not typically seen in Chuwis Lineup.
Connection includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a 2.5 GB Ethernet port, two USB-C ports (supports 100W and 140W power supply), three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1-Porte, HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 2.1A. There is also a 3.5mm sound plug, DC-in and a Kensington Lock Castle.
Other features include a full-size RGB Backlit keyboard, a 2MP IR-Webcam with a privacy protection, a 77.77Wh battery and stereo speakers. The laptop measures just over 21 mm thick and weighs 2.3 kg.
