Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has called Civil – Military Unit behind improved US commitment when he described the meeting between the Army Staff Feltmarshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump as a “milestone” in the relationship between Pakistans – the United States.
Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir held a one-on-a-one meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House over lunch Wednesday.
During the two -hour meeting, the two leaders discussed a number of questions that focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency and new technologies.
They also exchanged views on regional security issues, including terrorist efforts, the recent truce between Pakistan and India and rising tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement sent on X, Asif said that never before in the 78-year-old diplomatic history in the two countries had a US president invited and met a Pakistani army chief in this way.
“This is a turning point in 78-year-old history with our relationship,” he said. “The way regional and international issues were discussed during this meeting, Pakistan’s strategic significance highlighted. Our role in solving global issues was recognized.”
According to Asif, the discussion also brought renewed international attention to the long -standing disputes in India – Pakistan, especially the situation in Kashmir.
“This is success with the current hybrid model for governance,” he added, referring to the political-military coordination under PM Shehbaz Sharif and Coas Munir.
“The resuscitation of the economy, the diplomatic setback of India and the worthy, successful improvement of the connections with the United States – all these revolutionary changes have been made possible because of the strong coordination between Islamabad and Rawal Pindi.”

US President Donald Trump called his meeting with Coas Munir “an honor” after a lunch held in the White House on Wednesday.
In a speech with the media after the event, Trump expanded his gratitude to Pakistan’s military boss to visit and recognized the role of the army in helping to avert additional military escalation with India.
“It’s an honor for me to meet Asim Munir,” Trump said. “I invited him to thank him for not going to war. He deserves appreciation to help secure the ceasefire.”
“Pakistan and India are both nuclear forces,” the US president said. “We are in conversations with Pakistan about a trade agreement. Management of both nations is really remarkable.”
