Pakistan observes Defense and Martyr’s Day today (September 6) with ceremonies and tribute nationwide, as President and Prime Minister confirms their support for the armed forces and expresses solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine.
The day began with a 31-canon’s honor in Islamabad and 21-gun-greetings in provincial capitals.
Special prayers were offered in mosques for the nation’s progress and prosperity as well as for the freedom of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (iijok).
The day is reminiscent of the war in 1965, which fought between Pakistan and India, after escalating tensions over Kashmir as India launched an attack across the international border near Lahore.
The President and the Prime Minister described September 6 as a symbol of courage, unity and resilience. When they pay tribute to soldiers and citizens’ victims, they said that the spirit of the war in 1965 continues to guide future generations.
The leaders famous the armed forces and professionalism in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, Marqa-E-Haq against India, under the command of the planing staff Asim Munir.
President Zardari paid tribute to the armed forces’ multi-domain capacity on land, air and sea and declared the country’s defense “impervious.”
President called for unity and resilience when he said “The Spirit in September will forever repeat itself in the courage of our armed forces and our nations’ resilience. No challenge can deter us from the path to dignity and sovereignty. Long Living Pakistan’s armed forces. Pakistan Zindabad,”.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and constructive international commitment, but warned against “continuous Indian provocations and changed regional dynamics.” He said the country would continue to strengthen its defense while fighting foreign sponsored terrorism and proxy waring.
Both leaders called Kashmir the fundamental cause of regional instability as they repeated unwavering support to the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

They condemned Israeli “genocide” in Palestine and called for uninterrupted humanitarian aid to Gaza, who strongly condemns Israeli aggression.
He also linked financial stability to national security and called for collective efforts for prosperity and confidence.
Military honorary victims, promise crucial reaction to threats
In their separate messages, staff marched for Army staff Field Syed Asim Munir, President Joint Chiefs for Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Head of naval staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and chief of the airschilding air manager Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu confirmed their promise to maintain responsibility, the nation.
“On this historic day, our brave soldiers stood, with the support of the nation, as an invincible wall against obvious aggression that averted the dishonest designs of an enemy that was far superior to weapons and numbers,” the military’s media conditions, Midtaler Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
It added that skill and victims “left an indelible message of the sand of time that a united nation can never be defeated.”
The statement also noted that the armed forces had always stood with the nation under external aggression, terrorism and natural disasters. “The armed forces will expand all support to the victims of continuous flooding over Pakistan and celebrate the defense and the martyr’s day with the utmost humility.”
“Today, we confirm our promise to maintain the sacred responsibility that the nation has entrusted with us. Pakistan armed forces still remain vigilant and prepared to defend the country against all kinds of threats. Any attempt to disturb our hard -earned peace will be met with an appropriate and resolute reaction. May Allah Allah continue to bless Pakistan with peace, stability and strength,” the statement ended.
