Clayton Kershaw retires after legendary 18-year-old MLB career with dodgers

Clayton Kershaw, arguably the best jug since the turn of the century, will call it a career at the end of this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers announced that their long -time ACE is retiring, which started on Friday its last at Dodger Stadium during the regular season.

Kershaw debuted in MLB in 2008 after being the seventh total election two years before, and he has surpassed any possible expectation since.

Kershaw’s 2.54 career era is the lowest of any MLB jug in the Live-Ball era (since 1920) with at least 1,000 laps. He also joined the 3,000-strike club earlier this year and is one of 11 pitchers winning at least three Cy Young Awards. Each of the others who are eligible, except for Roger Clemens, is in the Hall of Fame.

Kershaw will have spent his entire 18-year-old career with Dodgers and won the World Series in 2020 and 2024.

The Left led the National League in ERA five times, including every year from 2011 to 2014. He remains the last starting pot called MVP.

Only five times Kershaw has ever turned up an era over 3.00. This year it is 3.53.

Apart from his three wins, Kershaw finished in the Top 10 in the Cy Young Award, which voted another six times, and was a finalist in three other cases.

Kershaw was appointed an all-star 11 times in his famous career, including this summer as an exemption from MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred.

Injuries have derailed Kershaw for the better part of the last decade as he has not started 30 starts since 2015. But when he has been on the field, he has been an Ageless wonder.

Dodgers are on their way to winning NL West, and Kershaw figures to be a piece if they hope to repeat themselves as masters.
