Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has ordered a quick and thorough investigation of the brutal killing of a man and a woman, after the circulation of a video online that has triggered nationwide indignation, it appeared on Sunday.
The disturbing video, widely shared on social media, shows the apparent murder of two people in a non -revealed place. The footage has given rise to public anger and calls for urgent action. The incident is perceived as honor killing.
In a statement from the Minister of Chief’s Secretariat, Bugti instructed law enforcement authorities to locate the crime place and arrest everyone involved without delay.
“The court of the rule of law will not be compromised. Those who challenge the state’s writing will be dealt with. No one will be allowed to take the law in their own hands,” Bugti said.
Balochistan -government spokesman Shahid Rind condemned the killings and described them as “reprehensible at all levels” and a “serious insult to social values and human dignity”.
He assured the public that the provincial government would take all legal steps to ensure justice is earned.
“The Balochistan Government will not remain a quiet spectator in the light of such cruelty. All legal means will be used to bring those responsible for justice,” Rind said.
The provincial government has also appealed to the public for help identifying the suspects. Citizens are encouraged to share all information that can help find the people involved.
