Cm Punjab launches insulin card for diabetic children

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched an ‘insulin card’ program for children suffering from type -in congenital diabetes.

She launched the program with Pakistan Post riders and visited the children for children to hand over the cards. According to a statement, she went home to Wasay Adnan in Sabzazar, and Zainab Waheed and Zain Shahzad in Jamil Town to give them the cards.

The minister also handed over insulin, glucometer strips and boxes of needles to patients.

The youngest among three siblings, five -year -old Wasay suffers from diabetes at birth. The Minister of the Ministry also issued directives to ensure Zain’s eye control and treatment. Upon her arrival, a huge amount gathered on the rooftops and streets. CM also took selfies with the girls at their request.

When she talked to the recipients, she said, “I can understand the pain and anxiety of children suffering from diabetes. The free insulin program for young children has been launched on the real demand for poor parents and serious need for children. She highlighted, “Children’s Health is of the utmost importance to the Punjab government. For the first time, children are given glue and test strips along with insulin. Children are the nation’s bright future and all resources are made at their disposal. The rapid spread of diabetes among children is a matter of serious concern.”

The main minister was informed in a briefing about the program that 1500 children in the first phase get insulin at their doorstep. Riders from Pakistan Post will verify the insulin card by scanning on an app. After the scan, insulin will be handed over to patients.
