Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued directives to launch an online portal to ensure easy and quick online registration for technical and vocational education institutions from Saturday to ensure optimal opportunities for youth.

According to a statement, she said, “From receipt of application to the issuing of a certificate, the whole process will be completely online.”

She said the registration would be open to the three -year diploma for associated engineer (DAE) courses for a reduced fee.

The minister said that the condition of opening a bank account in the institution’s name was relaxed until the issuing of a certificate of it. She added that the students and their parents would be freed from the hassle of visiting offices by giving them all relevant information online.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said, “According to Punjab Skills Development Authority ACT 2019, it has become mandatory for all technical and vocational education institutions to get registered with Punjab Skills Development Authority.”

In the event of a violation, six months imprisonment and a fine of up to RS1 million are imposed.

She emphasized that a list of 622 illegal and non -approved institutions had been published on the authority’s website.

“Details of all approved institutions together with the approved courses are available on the web portal. Curriculas for the approved courses are also available on the PSDA website,” she added.

She said complaints could be filed online regarding any illegal institution. A guideline has also been created to search for information about technical and business institutions. “

Main Minister Maryam Nawaz said, “We want our youth to move toward independent profession by making them skilled. We want to give the unemployed opportunities, a valuable asset in the country.”
