Colorado football’s third season under the head coach Deion Sanders started a strong start Friday night in Boulder. Buffaloes’ defense restored two fumbles and captured Georgia Tech -Quarterback Haynes King in the first quarter.
But much of the pregame attention was centered on Sanders’ health. In July, Sanders’ doctors announced his bladder after the discovery of a tumor. The Pro Football Hall of Famer added that there has been no evidence of cancer since surgery.
Coach Prime returned to the sidelines on Friday, but he doesn’t have to go a long way if he needs privacy.

Folsom Field now has a mobile bathroom near Buffaloes’ bench. The portable privacy tent is presented on depends, an adult underwear company Sanders has collaborated with.
“I didn’t joke! I’m really addicted to depends. It’s not a shame to take care of yourself. No shame in getting health screenings. And there’s certainly no shame in needing extra protection or use depends on staying in the game. It’s not weakness – it’s winning,” Sanders wrote on X last week.

Dependents replied, “No shame at all! We are proud to help you stay in the game, Coach Prime.”

Doctors said a section of Sanders’ gut was reconstructed to act as a bladder.
Sanders was facing questions about whether he would be ready to coach after his health. But during a timeout in the second quarter of Thursday’s game, Sanders appeared when he engaged in an animated exchange with coaches and players.
During a Sitdown with three-time Super Bowl winner Michael Irvin mentioned Sanders in July that he may need help from a “Porta Potty” during football matches.
“I know I got half time, but can I handle it through a game?” Sanders asked his former Dallas Cowboys teammate. “What if there’s a long quarter? OK, so I’m starting to think I’m going to get a Porta Potty to the sidelines.”

While Sanders was facing health challenges away from the field over the peak season, he is now tasked with navigating his first season without his sons, shower and Shilo Sanders. Quarterback Shedeur is a rookie with Cleveland Browns, while Shilo, a security, was waived by Tampa Buccaneers last week.
After walking 4-8 in Sanders’ first year at the helm, Colorado won nine games in 2024 and qualified for a bowl game.
Colorado and Georgia Tech were tied 20-20 in the fourth quarter late on Friday.
