Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Syed Asim Munir visited Wana and Dera Ismail Khan, where he celebrated Eid with officers and soldiers stationed along the border, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
According to ISPR, the army chief praised the unwavering dedication of the troops and their exemplary service to the nation. He also praised the armed forces, law enforcement authorities and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their resilience.
“The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have shown tremendous courage in the fight against terrorism, and our soldiers’ commitment to national defense is a matter of great pride,” General Munir was quoted as saying.
He also said that the victims of soldiers and unwavering commitment were “the guarantee of our country’s safety” and reflected their deep love for Pakistan.
The army chief also paid tribute to the martyrs and emphasized that their struggle for peace and stability formed the basis for the country’s success against terrorism.
General Asim Munir offered Eid beans with the troops and prayed for Pakistan’s stability and prosperity, the ISPR declared declaration.
