Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Syed Asim Munir categorically declared that Pakistan would not allow Fitna-Al-Khawarij to impose their ideology on Pakistan, but left room for possible drug addict if such misleading groups surrender and place themselves in the state’s grace.
The Army Chief, who approached a group of college students, described Fitna-Ale Khawarij-a expression used for terrorists belonging to the forbidden Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)-as a disturbing group that is unaware of Islam and completely outside its teachings.
The interaction with students took place on GHQ on Wednesday, but parts of his sincere remarks appeared on social media on Sunday. “We are fighting the anarchists from Fitna-Al-Khawarij. These external elements distort the true teachings of Islam and violate its principles,” he noted.
“We are fighting like comrades, and it’s the beauty of the army – there is no Sindhi, Baloch, Punjabi or Pashtun; we are all Pakistanis,” the army chief said.
With quoted verses from the Holy Qur’an, General Asim Munir reinforced his attitude towards Fitna Khawarij, where he said the Qur’an clearly prescribed serious penalties for those who wage war against Allah and his Messenger (PBUH) and spread anarchy on earth.
With reference to the Quranic doctrine, he said, “For those who wage war against Allah and his messenger and create suffering in the country, their punishment is the execution, crucifixion, the amputation of their hands and feet or exile from the country. This is their Punishment in this world, and in the hence, they will face a severe punishment.
The chief of staff further explained that those who wanted to avoid divine punishment should surrender and submit, as Allah is the most forgiving and merciful, and the state can also show grace in such cases. “Those who surrender to the state can expect grace,” he said.
On the subject of women’s rights, General Asim Munir said, “Islam has raised women to the highest status, whether as mother, wife or sister. Who do you need to remove their dignity and gave you the right to do so?
His remarks appear to be aimed at the Afghan Taliban, which banned girls education.
General Asim Munir reiterated that the Pakistani army fought against corrupt elements that mistakenly interpreted Islam. He said Khawarij violated Islamic teaching, and religion had clear directives of such unrest.
During his interaction, the army chief urged students to strive for expertise in their academic persecution and develop skills that would enable them to contribute positively to the country’s progress. He also shared perspective on the impact of the external environment on Pakistan, especially the threat of cross -border terrorism.
The army chief praised the youth for their energy, creativity and ability to innovate and said they were the future leaders of Pakistan. Coas emphasized the need “to impress Pakistaniat” highlighted Coa’s importance of Pakistan’s history, culture and values ”in the intellectual development of our youth”.
The army chief highlighted the army as the army in protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He honored the victims of the people of Pakistan in the country’s fight against the threat of terror and appreciated their resolute support for the armed forces and leas.
