Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Asim Munir said Thursday that the peace and freedom that enjoyed in Pakistan today is the result of the victims of the country’s armed forces.
The Army Chief made these comments during an investment ceremony held in General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the ceremony, General Asim Munir assigned military honors, including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-in-Basalat, of officers and soldiers from the Pakistani Army.
The awards were given in recognition of unique bravery during operations and distinguished service to the nation. Medals awarded to post -um were received by the families of the martyrs.
A large number of senior military officials and families of award recipients attended the event.
Coas Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans and said, “Shuhada (martyrs) and Ghazis (Warriors) are our sustained pride. Their honor and reverence are a sacred confidence in any Pakistani.”
He acknowledged the victims of the fallen families and expressed deep admiration for their resilience and courage.
The COAs also praised the Pakistani army and law enforcement authorities for their continued efforts to combat terrorism, including the elimination of high -value terrorist targets during ongoing terrorist operations.
