Coas Gen Asim’s mother laid to rest

The mother of Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Syed Asim Munir, who died on Monday, was put to rest on Army Graveyard after funeral beans were offered at Race Course Ground in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement on Tuesday, announcing the transition to General Asim Munir’s mother “The 23rd of Ramazan (March 24)” and offers prayers for her highest rows in heaven.

The funeral beans held on the race course in Rawalpindi were attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, federal ministers, chief ministers, civilian and military officials and others.

The Army Chief personally led the funeral beans to his mother and expressed gratitude to all those who attended. Tight safety arrangements were arranged on the occasion. Later, his mother was laid to rest in the Army Cemetery.

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed their deep grief over the passing of the army chief’s mother. The president, in a statement, expanded compassion and expressed solidarity with the deprived family of this sorrow time.

“We share the grief over General Syed Asim Munir over his mother’s passing. My inner compassion goes out to the surviving family during this difficult time,” the president said. He prayed to Almighty Allah for peace for the departed soul and strength for the surviving family to bear the loss.

The Prime Minister also expressed solidarity with the deprived family of this grief, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office. He also prayed to Almighty Allah for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also expressed deep grief and grief over passing the mother of General Asim Munir and extended their inner condolences.
