Chief of Army Staff (Coas) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has assured that all religious places damaged during the recent floods, including Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, will be restored to their original state on priority, Radio Pakistan reported Friday.
During his visit to the flood districts in Punjab, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Narowal and Kartarpur, the Army Chief met members of the Sikh community.
He said it was the responsibility of the state and its institutions to protect the religious places of religious minorities, confirming that Pakistan would not “let any stones be turned” to fulfill this duty.
The Sikh community expressed gratitude to the army chief of the relief and rehabilitation support provided by the civil administration and the military during the accident. Field Marshal Munir also conducted an air survey of Darbar Sahib Kartarpur to assess the damage caused by the floods.
The purpose of the visit was to review the flood situation, oversee rescue and relief operations and evaluate the preparations for the next spiking form. He was informed of the prevailing conditions and continuous measures to minimize losses.
Coas, who appreciated the efforts of the civil administration and troops, pay tribute to their coordinated and tireless work of saving lives and giving relief to flooded families.
While interacting with soldiers, he praised their high morals, operational readiness and unwavering commitment to serve the nation in challenging circumstances.
