Coas warns about Swift, resolute reaction to any military misadventure from India

Head of Movement Asim Munir warned on Thursday that any military adventureism from India would be met with an “immediate, resolute and high level” response as he observed a large-scale fighting exercise during a visit to Tilla-Feltfirende.

General Asim Munir made the comments while observing training hammer Strike, a large-scale field drill carried out by the Army Mangla-based Strike Corps to test operational emergency preparedness and the integration of modern weapons under simulated fighting conditions, the military said.

“Pakistan wants Regional Peace, but our readiness and commitment to defending national interests are unwavering,” said Munir, according to a statement from the Army Media Wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The exercise contained a multi-domain view of military power, including long-reach artillery, combat helicopters, air support and advanced engineering techniques. Troops from all military branches participated with high levels of coordination, agility and tactical skill.

General Munir praised the soldiers and officers for their high morals, professional expertise and fighting spirit. He described the exercise as a reflection of the operational superiority of the Pakistani Army and continuous progress in warfare capabilities.

“Training Hammer Strike is a clear example of the Pakistani army’s continuous professional development, innovative battle strategies and technological modernization,” he said.

Senior military management, educators and dignitaries from various services observed the exercise.

The Army Chief’s statement comes in the midst of rising tensions between Pakistan and India after the deadly April 22 -attack in Pahaldam, occupied Kashmir, who left 26 people died, mostly tourists. This attack is one of the deadliest in the region since 2000.

India has proposed cross -border relations without providing evidence, a requirement that Pakistan has strongly, rather than calling for an independent, neutral study.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday described the Pahagam attack as another example of the ongoing guilt game and said Pakistan is open to any “neutral and transparent” study of the incident in India-Besat Kashmir.

On Wednesday, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar repeated that although Pakistan will not try to escalate the situation, any provocation would be met with a robust response.

Meanwhile, global powers, including the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Turkey and Qatar, have called on both nations to step down tension and seek diplomatic solutions.
