Coco Gauff was a little poorly prepared for his first round match of 2025 French Open Tuesday, but that did not prevent the young American tennis star from crossing through for the next round.
Gauff, who won Us open By 2023, Court Philippe-Chatrier arrived on Tuesday without her rackets, which she first realized after she started searching through her bags.

In disbelief, Gauff showed her empty bag for her team in the stands and seemed to joke with opponent Olivia Gadecki about the accident.
“Frankly, as long as I’ve been touring, my coach has always put the racket in the bag before the match because he is very superstitious,” Gauff explained about the incident. “I accuse it on my coach. It’s ok.”

Despite the apparent error communication, Gauff did not seem to miss a blow during her fight. She defeated the Australian tennis Pro in straight set.
“Now that I think about it, it seems that it was the only way I had to win the match,” Gadecki joked after her 6-2, 6-2 losses.

Gauff went on to the second round, where she faces Tereza Valentova on Thursday. Americans’ best finish at the French Open was the final in 2022.
