Colin Kaepernick keeps hope of another NFL option

Colin Kaepernick has not taken a moment in the NFL since January 1, 2017, but that doesn’t prevent him from keeping hope of another shot like a quarterback in the league.

Kaepernick’s long -time girlfriend Nessa Diab revealed that the former San Francisco 49ers star kneeling under National Anthem in 2016 in protest of racial injustice in the United States is still training for a NFL opportunity.

“All day, every day,” she told TMZ Sports this weekend. “Nothing has changed.”

She added that “of course” he will still play.

“It’s all up to the teams if they want to let him,” she said.

Kaepernick, 37, fits the 49s during the 2016 season. He was 17-of-22 in 215 yards and a touchdown against Seattle Seahawks. Since then, teams have not been interested in Kaepernick enough to bring him on their list – even in training camp.

Kaepernick has also built his social activist platform through Know Your Rights Camp and Kaepernick Publishing. He has compared the NFL draft with a slave auction, called for the abolition of law enforcement and suggested that the NFL has not taken meaningful steps to tackle social injustices.

At the end of last year he admitted to NPR that he misses football and was still training in case a team called.

“I want to miss it forever,” he told the business in October, promoting his new children’s book “We Are Free You & Me.” “And I keep training for it.

“At the end of the day, I will not be in a position where I look back and have to question whether I gave it all to try to pursue it. I want to make sure that the reason I am not playing is not because of my work ethics or commitment but because I was kept out of it.”

Kaepernick told Pakinomist that he still thought he could lead a team to a Super Bowl.

“We are still training and still pushing,” he said. “So hopefully. We just have to get one of these team owners to open up.

“It’s something I’ve been training all my life in, so to be able to go back on the field, I think it would be a great moment, a great achievement for me. I think I could bring a lot to a team and help them win a championship.”
