Colin Kaerpernick pays for independent autopsy of trey reed

As Demartravion “Trey” Reed’s family is looking for answers around his death, the former NFL -quarterback Colin Kaepernick hopes he can help give them.

Reed, 21, was found dead hanging from a tree at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, and County Coroner and State Examiner controlled it a suicide.

According to police, there is no suspect that police are despite early indignation and serious accusations of his death.

Reed’s family lawyer, Ben Crump, however, said his clients have “received conflicting accounts and incomplete information about the circumstances [Reed’s] death.”

Crump said Kaepernick will pay for an independent autopsy through his Know Your Rights Camp Outopsy Initiative.

“Trey’s death caused the collective memory of a society that has suffered a historical wound for many, many years and many, many deaths,” Crump said in a statement. “Peace comes only by coming to the truth. We thank Colin Kaepernick for supporting this grieving family and the reason for justice and truth.”

Bolivar County Coroner Randolph Seals Jr. said earlier this week that Reed did not suffer any damage that was in line with an assault.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., Called for a federal investigation with reference to the state’s “painful history of lynch and racial violence against African Americans.”

Kaepernick played last in the NFL in 2016, which led the 49s to the Super Bowl in the 2012 season before losing to Baltimore Ravens. He went 28-30 as a starter in his career and went 17-6 in his first 23 starts, but 3-16 in his last 19.
