College Baseball Player Apologies for Controversial Third Basic Party

Michigan Infielder Mitchell Voit Issued a public apology on social media Monday after his controversial and drug-clashed party during an 11-0 win over the USC the previous day became viral online.

Voit, a 20-year-old junior from Wisconsin, Went 3-for-3 with three races and four RBIs in the shutout victory, but it wasn’t his performance in the game that had fans talking on social media.

With a 2-0 lead in the second round, Voit grated a triple to the center field and slipped to the third base, where he celebrated the play by mimicking the use of cocaine.

The video ran its rounds on X, which got Voit’s apology.

“I would like to apologize for my actions at the third base yesterday. I made an immature decision at the moment,” his post read.

“The gesture I made does not reflect my character, the household I was bred in, or the block M that I represent in any way.

Apology came the same day that Voit was named The big ten player of the week.

He scored six races and recorded 12 RBIs over five games, including a four-hit game against rival in the state, Michigan State.
