It took a decade, but Indiana Fever finally celebrated a Wnba Playoff Series victory. The injured team disturbed the Atlanta dream of the first round and won Game 3 on Thursday dramatically.
After avoiding elimination by winning Game 2, Indiana’s heroik in the fourth quarter resulted in a fantastic 87-85 upset. Indianapolis Colt’s main coach Shane Steichen noticed the remarkable endgame of the fever and offered his praise.
“Cry to the fever and coach White to get it done last night and move on. Obviously they have treated some adversity, with some injuries, and it’s the next person up for them. So it’s been funny and [I] Wishing them the best of luck in the next round with security, ”said Steichen during his media availability Friday.

Fever -star Sophie Cunningham responded to Steichen’s comments. “Wait, this is so cool! Love that you resume Fever Guildies Coach,” she wrote at X.
Meanwhile, fever -guard Kelsey Mitchell praised his head coach Stephanie White after Indiana advanced to the semi -finals.
“I’ve had so many coaches in eight years I’ve been on the worst record teams in the Indiana fever (history), so I know where my career started on,” Mitchell said after the sixth seed fever joined in the last minute to beat the third seed dream 87-85 in a decisive game. Despite being short-handed throughout the year due to injuries, the fever won the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup and ended with 24 wins.
Five players who started the 2025 season on the fever’s list were lost to seasonal ending injuries. To make things worse, these setbacks occurred within a two-month window.
In early September, Caitlin Clark announced she had been excluded for the rest of the season. Clark has been sidelined since July 15, when she suffered a groin injury in a game against Connecticut Sun.

“I spent hours in the gym every day with the unique goal of getting back out there, disappointed is not a big enough word to describe how I feel,” wrote Point Guard on September 4th.
Scholarship Guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald each went down with their own significant injuries during a matchup with Phoenix Mercury last month. Colson suffered a torn ACL while McDonald was diagnosed with a broken foot.
Cunningham suffered a season ending MCL injury on August 27.
