Islamabad:
In response to the heavy rain and hailstorm in Islamabad, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI) and District Management Islamabad have launched a joint emergency operation on the CDA directives, Chief Commissions for Islamabad and DG Civil Defense Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
All field teams have been mobilized immediately with clear instructions on providing maximum relief and assistance to citizens with the best abilities.
In accordance with the directives of chairman CDA, Emergency & Disaster Management Directorate, together with sanitation, environmental wing, building control, Islamabad water office, road and maintenance wing, are CDA directed to quickly remove fallen trees, waste and other obstacles from all major roads in Islamabad. Efforts to accelerate the cleaning of road and restore normal traffic flow has been prioritized.
The staff and machines from sanitation, environment and engineering wings have been deployed to clear blockages in the city’s drains, waterways and underlations. A special monitoring mechanism has been activated to ensure effective drainage in low -lying areas, undergraduate and key roads.
CDA and DMA, MCI and District Management Officials are present on Earth to supervise all operations directly. Continuous 24/7 monitoring of roads, drains and sensitive areas is implemented immediately to tackle emergencies.
