Former American men’s football star Landon Donovan did not hack words when he responded to America’s Concacaf Nations League loss to Canada in the match in third place.
Canada defeated the United States, 2-1. The Americans finished their Nations League races with two consecutive tab-the other, which came against Panama, which knocked them in third place instead of going after the Nations League title.

The American men’s football team had been highlighted because of its young talent, but no coach has been able to lock the opportunity to create real waves on the global scene. The United States could not have an impact on Copa America last summer, which eventually ended the mandate of Gregg Berhalter.
The current coach Mauricio Pochettino was hired for push for the World Cup in 2026, but losses have thrown cold water upon his arrival.
Donovan finished hearing about the talent on the guard schedule.
“I’m so tired of hearing how ‘talented’ this group of players are and all the amazing clubs they play for,” wrote Donovan at X. “If you don’t want to show up and actually give as!%* About playing for your national team, rejecting the invitation. Talent is great, pride is better.”
Pochettino said if the team is fighting a year from now, he would sound the alarm, but he wasn’t ready to do it yet.

USMNT needs more from his biggest star Christian Pulisic: ‘I’m not happy with my output’
“It’s all a process we need to change and I won’t say I’m happy – don’t take me wrong,” said Pochettino. “But if (there is) something negative about (a) result, something to learn is better now because I think we have time.”
Fortunately for Americans, the United States is already in the World Cup in 2026 because it hosts the event. Pochettino said there is still time.
“We were unable to discover and try to expand our strategy to the team, the capacity to play another way,” said Pochettino. “I think we have time. I prefer it to happen today, and not in a year.”
The United States is 5-3 since Pochettino took over.

The loss to Canada on Sunday night was the first time the Americans had lost a competitive match to Canada on American soil since 1957. The men had not lost back-to-back matches to Canada since 1980 and 1985.
