Connecthear, a social enterprise that works for disability in the country using technology, along with UFONE 4G (Cellular Arm in the PTCL group) has launched the world’s first AI-driven early warning system ‘Suno’ to deliver life-saving warnings in the sign language of the deaf and hard-based society under emergency situations and natural disasters.
The platform, supported and financed by GSMA Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation Fund, connects a critical gap in emergency communication, ensuring that deaf individuals receive timely warnings during natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes.
Through the system, signing videos are immediately sent out via Ufones WhatsApp bot, which is at risk of persons at risk over Pakistan at no cost. Connecthear creates the sign language content using advanced AI-driven technology, while UFONE delivers the robust nationwide distribution infrastructure.
In a speech at the launch event, PTCL president and UFONE 4G Group CEO, Hatem Bamatraf, said our collaboration with Connecthear reflects our belief that real digital inclusion leaves no one behind. Through our partner Connecthear we use technology with the aim of creating influence that really matters. “
Connecthear-co-founder and CEO Azima Dhanjee said: “In an emergency, communication is not only important, it is a matter of life and death. For far too long, deaf individuals who also include my parents have been cut off from urgent alarms, and they have to trust others during a disaster. With this project we finally change it.
