Conor McGregor said back in March that he ran to be the president of Ireland – now he aims to make it official.

The UFC Super Star published a link to a petition for social media Monday that would “secure” that he is on the ballot.

“I, Conor McGregor hereby declares my intention to seek the reputed office for Ireland’s president,” McGregor wrote in the petition.

“However, the current constitutional framework presents a significant barrier to democratic participation. The existing regulations require a candidate to secure nominations from either twenty members of Oireachta or four county councils to be eligible for the ballot. This system, while it is intended to ensure a degree of political influence among candidates, the Irish voter’s direct voting is limited.

“In light of this, I suggest that a petition that advocates a change in the nomination process to allow my name to be included on the ballot. I claim that the citizens of Ireland, both within the Inland process, authorize the population of Ireland to shape their own future.”

McGregor’s first announcement of driving to president came a few days after he met President Donald Trump earlier this year.

The former champion has opposed a bill regarding the EU migration pact.

“Ireland must fully implement the EU migration pact by June 12, 2026. So between now and 12 June 2026, more legislation will be adopted by both houses in Oireachtas and then signed by the President … Who else will stand up to the government and oppose this bill? … I will!” McGregor wrote in March.

“It’s the people of Ireland’s election! Always! It’s a true democracy! .. This is the future of Ireland with me as president. All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice about their future! God bless our people. Vote McGregor and get your voice heard!”

In September, he teased a potential presidential driving in Ireland and called himself the “only logical election.”

McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was to return last year, but a toe injury kept him out of Octagon. He has since said he would only return to a stadium, but showed interest in the UFC event in the White House next year.
