Consultation ongoing about the regulation of digital currency in Pakistan: PM Shahbaz

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that consultations are in progress on the regulation of digital currency in Pakistan.

The statement was made during a meeting of the Economic Advisory Council, who was chairman of the Prime Minister and participated by various council members.

Participants expressed confidence in government policies and proposed future growth, which was welcomed by the prime minister.

In his address, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that financial stability is a collective effort, not the work for any person. He repeated the government’s obligation to sustainable economic development and highlighted efforts to promote trade in the region.

The Prime Minister stated that the government is aiming to improve the competitiveness of local industries in international markets focusing on increasing exports and creating jobs. He also mentioned initiatives to establish green data centers and improve telecommunications services, especially in remote areas, to increase that exports and the number of freelancers.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the ongoing efforts to regulate digital currency in Pakistan and expressed the importance of turning today’s discussions into actions.

During the meeting, participants praised the government’s financial measures and noted that the country’s economy is stable and moving towards growth. They pointed out that stability in prices has led to increased production, and the government’s action plan is recognized by global economic institutions, investors and business.

They also appreciated the government’s commitment to institutional reforms and improvements in the tax system, which has promoted a more business -friendly environment.

The meeting also highlighted an increase in exports within a month, which the participants saw as a positive indicator of financial recovery. Furthermore, the crash on smuggling was seen as contribution to the growth of exports.

The meeting attended several prominent figures, including Jahangir Khan Tareen, Saqib Shirazi, Shehzad Saleem and several federal ministers, including Ahsan Iqbal and Rana Tanveer Hussain.

Previously, Prime Minister Sharif met with an 11-member Bahraini-parliamentary delegation led by Ahmed bin Salman al-Musallam, speaks for Bahrain’s Council Council.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expanded an invitation to Bahraini investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan and emphasized the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. He also conveyed his best wishes to Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa and confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to strengthen diplomatic and financial relations.
