- Corsair WorkStation 300 puts 128 GB of RAM in a chassis less than a shoe box
- Integrated graphics can hold it back from real-time rendering or GPU-accelerated production work
- 50 tops NPU suggests to serious AI muscle inside a misleading little package
Corsair has introduced AI Workstation 300, a mini-PC built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, and places it as a high-performance workstation PC for professionals and AI developers.
At less than $ 2000, it sits in a competitive space where expectations are high for both raw performance and long -term reliability.
This device marks the 13th system to include Ryzen AI Max+ 365 series Chip according to other systems such as HP Z2 Mini G1A and GMKTEC EVO-X2, suggesting growing interest in AMD’s latest integrated AI-SILICIUM.
Factor in small form delivers great on memory, storage and AI -hardware
This system is found in a 4.4L form factor that is considered laptop compared to other Strix -halo devices on the market.
There are small size packages 128 GB LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB NVME SSD and Radeon 8060’s integrated graphics with support for up to 96 GB dynamic VRAM.
While these specifications occur promising on paper, the use of integrated graphics raises to a workstation PC question about its ability to GPU-heavy tasks such as real time 3D reproduction or high resolution video editing.
Developers and engineers who focus on AI-inferences or code-based workflows may think it is sufficient but creative professionals who are dependent on discreet GPU acceleration may be more cautious.
Corsair claims that the device is ready for local LLMs, AI-assisted development and creative work, supported by a neural treatment unit (NPU) capable of up to 50 tops of acceleration.
The included Corsair AI Software Suite improves its AI capacity, but proprietary tool sets often face adoption and compatibility barriers outside of closely controlled workflows.
Thermal control is handled by a double-fan cooling system that can help maintain stable performance in a tightly packed chassis.
350W power supply also occurs sufficiently for its components, although it leaves a little ceiling height for future expansion.
The I/O selection is more comprehensive than one would expect from a system of this size, including USB 4.0, an SD card reader and 2.5 g Ethernet.
This device, which comes with a two-year warranty and lifetime technical support, is currently on pre-order and begins shipping in September 2025.
