Pakistan’s Minister of Information Atta Tarar has said that the country has moved past ‘accidents’ from former leaders, citing former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his close employees.

In a speech in Lahore, Tarar criticized the former PTI government and said a former prime minister was convicted in a case involving the sale of state gifts.

“A prime minister used to sell expensive gifts while the current leadership is working with transparency,” he said.

The Minister added that the government is obliged to fulfill its promises to the public while rivals face the consequences of their past actions.

In response, PTI spokesman Sheikh Waqa’s Tarar’s comments rejected and said the case of 190 million pounds was not about corruption but about “the auction of justice.”

He accused the government of exploiting legal cases for propaganda.

“If they had any shame, they wouldn’t use the case to mislead the public. Every time these people are in power, the country faced poverty and hunger, ”Waqas said.

The 190 million -pound case remains a point of contention between the ruling government and PTI, where both sides accuse each other of political victims.

PTI switches to agitation mode, planning protests after failed conversations with Govt

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) announced Secretary General Salman Akram Raja that the “system” would soon realize that it cannot move on without the party founded by IMRAN Khan.

His comments came a day after PTI rejected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer to resume stopped talks, which led to speculation about political instability in the coming days.

PTI, who now seems to be changing to “agitation state”, has signaled the plans to arrange protests at district level over alleged rigging at last year’s parliamentary elections.

Ptis Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar also mentioned a potential demonstration on Islamabad’s D-Chowk.

He previously said that PTI’s desire for dialogue was interpreted as weakness and revealed that the party was planning to reorganize its leadership by adhering to moderate figures in favor of hardliners.
