Rawalpindi:
To knock out at Adiala Prison Administration for refusing to give Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leaders the opportunity to meet the party’s founder Imran Khan despite a court ruling accused the party’s management officials of contempt of court. They called on the judiciary to maintain its credibility and dignity by ensuring compliance with its decisions.
In a speech with the media outside the Adiala prison, the opposition leader condemned the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan Prison Administration to disregard the law and the constitution. He claimed that while visitors who met convicted criminals were accommodated in visitors, PTI leaders were forced to wait outside.
Ayub emphasized that paragraph. 7 of the court decision explicitly says that the prison superintendent must secure meetings with Imran Khan. “We waited for four hours outside the Adiala prison, which repeatedly informed the administration, but still the superintendent refused to give us at the request of an intelligence agency’s colonel,” he claimed.
He criticized intelligence agencies for not tackling security concerns in Balochistan while interfering with political affairs. “Their duty is to fight terrorism, yet people in Balochistan cannot move freely due to security threats. This is an intelligence error,” Ayub claimed.
PTI leader Shibli Faraz also condemned the prison administration’s despite and called it an obvious contempt. “Not allowing us to meet Imran Khan is not just our insult; it is a direct violation of the court’s order,” he said.
Senator Allama Raja Abbas Nasir claimed that the country was deliberately pushed into turmoil. “To deny someone their rights is an injustice. The whole system is built on oppression, but we will not surrender or give up on our case,” he promised.
Sunni Ittehad Council chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza noted sarcastically that the three judges on the larger bench should be “congratulated” with regard to respect for their decision by the prison administration. “We won’t let this problem brush aside. It’s alarming that the prison superintendent and a colonel have more power than the judiciary,” he said.
Meanwhile, the PTI founder’s spokesman Niaz Ullah Niazi’s prison administration’s actions and called them a serious challenge to the legal authority. “By teasing the court’s ruling, they have raised a major question of the credibility of the judiciary. We will file a contempt for the court’s petition,” he announced, adding that Imran Khan remains an important number for Pakistan’s future.
