On Thursday, Dallas Cowboys accepted a trade that sent Star Pass Rusher Micah Parsons to Green Bay Packers, in what is expected to be an NFL-altering transaction.

Parsons was an important part of the cowboys defense. Without him on the guard schedule, many questioned how competitive Dallas would be in 2025. First-year cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer sent a clear message about his belief in the team’s goal that came into the season.

“Nothing has changed,” Schottenheimer said. “My goals have not changed. Our team goals have not changed. I hit the players on it today after I talked about the hard few days for all guys. It doesn’t change. The standard is the standard.”

Schottenheimer then answered a question about the franchise’s persecution of a Vince Lombardi trophy by suggesting that it requires a team effort to win a championship.

“I would say that Micah is an incredible player,” Schottenheimer said. “No one contests it. He’s an amazing player, but this is the ultimate team game. It’s the ultimate team game and we won’t win a championship with only one person.”

“It will take variations of the 69 guys plus that we have on this list. Damage is a big part of this. We have built up our depth and we have done these things. That would be the things I would say. At the end of the day this is the biggest team sport in the world and you have to have pieces in place. I think we have a lot of really good players on site.”

On Friday night, Packers Videos shared on social media and photos of Parsons on the team facility.

Parsons also approached the media. “I think it lowered a little for me yesterday when I got a little crazy with (family), but just being in here and just taking the facilities and all and welcome … I think I’m pretty beaten in.”

Despite Schottenheimer’s attitude, the Oddsmakers Packers Championship outlets gave a significant boost after the team landed Parsons.

Parsons completed his four -year race in Dallas with 52.5 sacks. He is scheduled to return to AT&T Stadium on September 28 when Packers visits cowboys.
