Dallas Cowboys are set to start the 2025 NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles, and a very big question is voiced over the team.
Will Star Edge Rusher Micah Parsons be on the field for cowboys?
While Parsons and Cowboys’ Front Office remain silent on a potential contract extension, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Wednesday that he thinks Pass Rusher will play week 1.

“I feel good about it, yes,” he said, when asked if he thought Parsons would fit up week 1, per. Dallas Morning News.
“I feel good that Micah will be out there against Philadelphia Eagles.”
Parsons has been at Cowboys’ training camp facility in Oxnard, California, but he has seen practice from the sidelines. And although he has been spotted next to Jerry Jones, the team owner and general manager, talk between Star Edge Rusher’s representatives and Cowboys’ Front Office not arrived at all.

Parsons was asked about contract negotiations this past week at training camp, where he simply said, “My mouth is closed.”
Jones publicly said he has no intention of trading parsons despite his request, which he published on social media.
“I want to say to our fans, ‘don’t lose sleep over this,'” Jones said via Star-Telegram.
This comment came after Parsons not only requested a trade, but also laid out his frustrations at how contract discussions have unfolded this season.
“Yes, I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I would be a cowboy and carry the star of my helmet. I would play in front of the best fans in sports and make this America’s team once again – the team that my pops and I grew up cheering on the way up Harrisburg, unfortunately I will no longer be here,” Parsons said in his post.

“I will no longer be held for negotiations with closed door without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken on me to be injured while I placed it on the line of the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want stories created and spread to the media about me.
Since Parsons broadcast his dirty laundry with the team, many have been wondering what the future has for the Penn State product, which has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL since entering the league.

Espns Adam Schafter recently said on his podcast that he thinks Parsons and Cowboys are heading for a “divorce.”
“You can’t get an appointment if you don’t even speak,” Schafter said. “And the two sides have not had any negotiations since last March or early April. It sounds like this time is personal. It sounds like each side has been dug in. Cowboys have come out and said what they said in public at the start of training camp, which Micah did not like Micah to get out and asked to be shopped, said he was ready to move from Dallas, which I am not sure. Parsons is ready to play this season at its fifth year’s opportunity, which the team picked up before the beginning of the 2024 campaign, worth $ 24 million. Cowboys also have the opportunity to franchise Tag Parsons for two more seasons after 2025 if they can’t reach a long -term deal.
