Warner Bros. Discovery’s originally scraped Coyote vs. Acme Film is now released on August 28, 2026, according to a message made on San Diego Comic Con 2025. We have ketchup entertainment to thank you for this, which came in and saved the day when it was announced that the project was cut in 2023 to get a fiscal depreciation.
In the intervening years, there has been tremendous demand from fans online to get the movie released (remember #ReleaseCoyotevsacme and #savecoyotevsacme by the beginning of 2024?), With a funeral screening, which was even allegedly held after the role crew and creators, such as Will Forte, were publicly destroyed. After several distributors sent the opportunity to buy the animated movie for $ 75-80 million, Coyote vs. Acme found its happy ending in March 2025.
Now we have a confirmed release date, we also know that the movie will stream at HBO Max as it is a Warner Bros. -project (at least technical). However, the excitement of the release date is out of the way, there is a very real danger that fans will forget about it in the 12 months we have to wait. Frankly, we can’t afford not to show up and stream this unless we want the cultural karma to bite us in the butt.

If a streaming service (and we all know which one is most likely to be) announces the quick cancellation of a show you were really interested in, the vacuum of social media will be the first to hear about it. Every time there has been a sniff of injustice for television and movies in the last decade or so, we quickly have the campaign collective for change. In many of these cases, pleas have fallen on deaf ears but the huge collaboration effort to get Coyote vs. Acme Published was at another level.
Look, we are simple people. All we wanted to do was see a villainous cartoon Coyote try to ruin the life of a strange -looking bird without success and lead us right back to our childhood joys. In a world where creative industries are starting to take fewer risks even though they still decide to wipe out severely affected watches, Coyote vs. Acme Felt like the perfect bridge between what’s missing on screen. The fact that the movie is now People’s Champion makes it even more unique, and I am convinced that the finished product will be an all-hour.
Here’s what else I see that happens: When the time comes to Coyote vs. Acme To have its global release, streaming or otherwise we all forget. SEGERSHIP WILL BE DOWN, CONCEPT on social media will be anything but silent, and none of our knights in shining armor will get any of their money back. Why do I think so? Let’s just say that the pessimist in me has a hard time keeping my mouth closed when I have reported many heated online entertainment exchanges that have been dissolved to nothing. We may be steadfast fans but we are also unclear and there will probably be some big drama or title next summer that removes our eye from Looney Melodies ball.
So here’s my plea for you. When August 28, 2026 rolls around and you have the chance to stream Coyote vs. AcmeTake it. You never know one of your most expected watches is in danger, it may never see the light of day.
