Crypto Exchange Bybit no longer works illegally in France in the eyes of the country’s financial regulator, its CEO said Friday.
The exchange was on France’s legislative blacklist for more than two years, Ben Zhou, CEO of Bybit, said in an X -post on Friday.
“After more than two years of working with the French regulator through several remedy efforts, BYBT is now officially removed from France AMF black list,” he said.
A search in the Authorite Des Marches Financiers (AMF) database confirms that Bybit, the second largest global exchange after volume, is no longer on the blacklist.
Just last May, the regulator advised people that BYBT was not registered to operate in the country and called on investors to arrange, so the platform eventually ceases. ” Shortly after the announcement, Bybit said it would stop offering products to French citizens.
But now Exchange’s CEO is hopeful that it will be able to get a markets in Crypto Assets License (Mica).
“Mica license next time,” Zhou said at X. Companies strive to get the coveted Mica license, which would have them operated in the 30 European economic areas.
The Dubai-based exchange knows how to make a comeback after receiving warnings from regulators. Recently, BYBT managed to secure a license in India after paying a $ 1 million fine.
Neither BYBT nor AMF returned requests for comment.
