New York-based venture capital company Archetype has collected $ 100 million for its third fund aimed at supporting the start-up of blockchain-start-ups, the company said.
The Foundation, called Archetype III, is supported by a mixture of existing and new institutional investors, including pensions, academic gifts, sovereign wealth funds and funds for funds.
“Running a concentrated $ 100m concentrated fund lets us be extremely selective and high conviction with each team,” Ash Egan, founder and general partner of archetype, told Coindesk in an email. “We operate with a single goal – to ensure that Crypto teams are placed to win by building deep report with founders in a way that Mega Funds structurally cannot.”
Archetype has an overview of early efforts that paid off. Privy, a Crypto -Tevebogstart in his portfolio, was acquired by Stripe earlier this year.
Another investment, US Bitcoin Corp, completed a merger with HUT 8, a step that brought the company into a joint venture tied to Eric Trump’s US Bitcoin project.
The company is currently managing about $ 350 million in assets, including significant efforts in Solana and Ethereum, according to the document.
While specific investments from the new fund have not been revealed, Archetype said more offers have already been made. The company plans to focus on founders who build cases in the real world that can bring crypto to wider consumer markets.
Egan, coming up with potential barriers that still hold back cryptocurrency, Coindesk told Coindesk that there is “no silver ball for mainstream crypto -admission, but the playoffs are to deliver products that are on parity with their web2 alternatives while making them better adapted to users and creators.”
Still, he added, the company is working “shoulder to shoulder with our founders, we spend hours on the end of studying how new behavior and technologies can be packed in the best experiences for everyday users.”
