Punjab’s Department of Terrorism (CTD) said on Friday that it fever a major terrorist plot by arresting three terrorists in Faisalabad linked to India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), reported Express News.
According to a CTD spokesman, the arrests were made during an intelligence -based operation performed in Pathan Colony on Jhang Road. The terrorists planned coordinated attacks in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan under Eidul Azha.
The spokesman said the terrorists were affiliated with the described group Fitna al-Khawarij and had crossed the border illegally on several occasions to meet raw operatives in Srinagar and Rajasthan. A cache of explosives, detonators and firearms was recovered from their possession, CTD said.

The original studies suggested that the terrorists were in contact with foreign handlers via WhatsApp, through which the shared sensitive location cards and received instructions, the spokesman added.
CTD maintained that the terrorists had completed plans to target key places in Eid holidays. A case has been registered in Faisalabad and further investigation is underway.
The spokesman said the arrests helped to avert what could have been a large scale destruction during the festive period, adding that the efforts to trace additional members of the network continued.
