The Department of Moderrorism (CTD) Sindh conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Sachal area of ​​Karachi and arrested a suspected terrorist associated with the forbidden separatist group Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) confirmed officials on Tuesday.

According to CTD spokesman, the operation was performed near Memon Graveyard in the Police Housing Society scheme 33 within the jurisdiction of the Sacholitan.

The suspect, identified as Sajjad Shar alias Babloo, son of Ghulam Abbas, was arrested and illegal firearms were recovered from his possession.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sajjad Shar was a close help of SRA commanders Asghar Ali Shah and Noor Ahmed Chandio.

He was previously arrested in cases of murder, murder attempts and possession of explosive materials.

Authorities said he served as a connection and passed instructions from SRA management to operators, including Ghulam Shabbir Mallah and Bashir Shar.

CTD stated that the suspect was involved in recruiting young people to SRA activities and encouraging them to attend separatist meetings.

He is also accused of completed reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Karachi and Interior Sindh and shares the information with his network.

Officials said the suspect planned an IED attack near a railway track in Bohar, the Hyderabad district, under orders from SRA command.

He reportedly waited for the delivery of the explosive unit at the time of his arrest.

CTD has registered a case against the defendants and launched a comprehensive study to collect information about other SRA-bound operators.

Further arrests are expected to be based on intelligence extracted from the suspect.

The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in CTD’s ongoing efforts to settle networks of prohibited separatist equipment operating in the province.
