Micah Parsons and Cowboys are rooted in a contractual standard.

A few weeks ago, Star Pass Rusher went public with his desire to be traded to another team as conversations about a potential long -term agreement seemed to stop.

But last week doubled the long -time cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones on his attitude against Trading Parsons while also pointing Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta.

Parsons’ teammate, Dak Prescott, has experienced his own long contract negotiation period with cowboys. The veteran -quarterback expressed his “confidence” that Parsons will be in a cowboys uniform in just over a week when Dallas opens the 2025 NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I have confidence,” Prescott said. “I said to you that way back when. And I just go out of experience, honestly. No different from mine. I have confidence in it. Just hope, which I know he is that he is ready to play.”

Parsons was appointed as a training camp team-in after he jumped team practice throughout the summer while waiting for a new contract from Cowboys. As it says, Parsons comes into the 2025 season during the fifth and last opportunity for his Rookie agreement.

While the Parsons ‘contract situation has been an important topic of conversation this season, Prescott concerns concern that the saga has created a distraction in Cowboys’ dressing room.

“There has been a case of something similar to this for the past three years, I think, if not before,” Prescott said. “Not necessarily. I think people can take what they want. I think it’s kind of part of the way guys think and see things around here.”

Cowboys Cornerback Trevon Diggs was not as confident as Prescott about the Kantrusher that fits up against Eagles.

“I just hope we get everything worked out, we get everything located. All guys miss him,” said Diggs. “Everyone wants him out there. I just hope everything gets handled so we can just go out there and win.”

Diggs added that Parsons has trained away from the team all summer.

“I know he is working,” said Diggs. “He’ll get out there badly. I know what type of person he is, knowing what type of hardworking he is. I just know he wants to be out there.”

Diggs also noted that Parsons ultimately “wants to be out there with” his teammates.

“I’ve heard him say before, he plays the game for us,” Diggs said. “We go out there sweat, blood, sweat and tears. We train together, train together. So it really is him to be with us at the end of the day. I know for sure he will be out there with us.

“This is at home. This is family. So why wouldn’t he be here?”

The Cowboys-Eagles season opener starts at 1 p.m. 20.20 on September 4 at Lincoln Financial Field.
