Dandadan season 3 has officially gone into production, which is excellent news for one of the best anime shows.
Dandadan follows two high school students, Momo and Okarun, navigating friendship and just a casual dose of aliens, ghosts, and superpowers, all wrapped up in some eye-popping animation and thrilling action scenes. And there’s a lot more where that came from as we dive into Season 3.
Here’s everything we know so far about it Dandadan season 3 from expected release date, cast, trailer, plot rumours, news and more.

Dandadan season 3 has officially gone into production, thanks to confirmation from the show’s official Twitter/X account on September 18, 2025 (see above).
Posted in Japanese, it roughly translates to: “Season 3 production confirmed. Momo, Okarun and Turbo Granny, let’s celebrate!”
Season 1 premiered in October 2024, Season 2 in July 2025, so for Season 3 I would predict a mid to late 2026 release date. But as soon as we hear more, we’ll be sure to update here.
Dandadan Season 3: Has A Trailer Been Released?
Unfortunately, there is no trailer for it Dandadan season 3, and that will most likely be because the show didn’t go back into production until September 2025.
In the lead up to Dandadan season 2 several trailers were released across Crunchyroll and Netflix Anime’s YouTube channels. Despite the July 2025 release, trailers started as far back as December 2024 leading up to its eventual premiere.
So early 2026 seems most likely for a Season 3 trailer of some sort, but we’ll drop all official trailers here as soon as they arrive.
Dandadan Season 3: Cast Predicted
There has been no official news about Dandadan season 3 cast yet, aside from the season 3 production announcement referring to Momo, Okarun, and Turbo Granny, but I would predict the following characters to return:
- Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
- Natsuki Hanae as Ken ‘Okarun; Takakura
- Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny
- Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase
- Kaito Ishikawa as Jin Jiji Enjoji
- Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori
Alongside the Japanese voice actors, I could imagine the English dubs also having to reprise their roles after voicing the characters in every episode so far. These include Abby Trott as Momo, AJ Beckles as Okarun, Barbara Goodson as Turbo Granny, Kari Wahlgren as Seiko, Aleks Le as Jiji and Lisa Reimold as Aira.
Dandadan Season 3: Story Synopsis and Rumors
Full spoilers for Dandadan season 1 and 2 to follow.
There is no official news on what Dandadan season 3 plot will involve, but I imagine it will put more of the yōkai and alien battles of the previous two seasons front and center.
If you haven’t seen yet, the series follows high school students, Momo and Okarun, as they build an unusual friendship based on quite different viewpoints. Momo believes in yōkai, supernatural beings that her grandmother Seiko taught her about, but not aliens. Okarun, on the other hand, believes in aliens, but not yōkai.
It soon becomes clear that they are both right… and wrong, as aliens and yōkai begin to intertwine in their lives. Momo given latent psychic abilities by aliens and Okarun possessed by a yōkai called Turbo Granny, a frightening-looking elderly woman who is then forced to inhabit a maneki-neko doll.
In true manga fashion, it’s a wildly dynamic and insanely insane tale that has Momo and Okarun mingling with other high school friends to embark on weird and wonderful missions. And through it all, both yōkai and aliens continue to invade their lives. Throw in some romantic tension between Momo and Okarun, and you’ve got yourself a well-rounded and heartfelt tale.
Considering that it follows Yukinobu Tatsu’s famous series, of which new chapters are still being released, there is a lot to go by. And if you’re a fan of the manga, you might have a good idea where Dandadan season 3 airs next.
Without giving too much away, Dandadan is divided into several story arcs, of which Turbo Granny, Acrobatic Silky, and Serpo were all explored in Season 1. In Season 2, Cursed House, Evil Eye, and Kaiju followed next.
Before Dandadan season 3 then I would predict the Space Globalists, Onbusuman and Danmara arcs as next, which would introduce new characters including a dangerous yōkai called Reiko Kashima, a mysterious new teacher, Sanjome, and a possessed young man named Unji Zuma. But if you don’t read the manga ahead, we’ll leave the whole plot hidden.
Will there be more seasons of Dandadan?
Given that Dandadan season 3 was renewed along with the season 2 finale, I imagine we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out if a season 4 is on the cards.
Ifand it’s a big if since there has been no official confirmation the plot of season 3 follows the story arcs as suggested above, there are still a few more arcs left that could form a season 4 and beyond.
For now, however, there is no official news about future seasons of Dandadan. But as one of the best anime shows on Netflix, they top charts and bring in millions of views (as of Collider), it seems quite likely that Season 3 will not be the last of Momo and Okarun’s story. But we’ll have to wait and see.
